Directions
Trim any excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into chunks that will fit easily into a slow cooker.
2 In a bowl, combine paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a spice rub.
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork chunks, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker. Pour barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth over the meat. Use tongs or a spoon to toss the meat, ensuring it's evenly coated with the sauce.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours. The pork should become tender and easily shred with a fork.
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and transfer it to a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into smaller pieces.
Skim off any excess fat from the juices in the slow cooker, then return the shredded pork to the slow it with the remaining juices.
Serve the pulled pork on buns for sandwiches, or as desired. It pairs well with coleslaw, pickles, or additional barbecue sauce for extra flavor.
