Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), an optimal temperature to ensure your salmon is cooked thoroughly without getting too dry.
While the oven preheats, arrange your fresh salmon fillets in a baking dish and drizzle them with olive oil. This not only adds flavor but helps to keep the salmon moist.
Sprinkle the fillets with salt and black pepper, remembering that a little can go a long way.
Zest the lemon and sprinkle it liberally over the fillets. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze one half over the salmon. It’s a good idea to save a little lemon juice to drizzle over the cooked fish for an extra punch of acidity.
Lastly, sprinkle the chopped dill over the salmon. Don't be modest; the dill adds a lovely muted freshness that cuts through the richness of the salmon.
Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The baking time might vary depending on the thickness of your fillets.
Serve the baked salmon garnished with fresh lemon slices from the other half of the lemon. This is a delightful touch that adds flavor and presentation flair.
