Old-Fashioned Homemade Hamburger Steak with Gravy

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 Cup breadcrumbs
- 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 Cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tbls all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cooking sherry (optional)
- salt to taste

Directions
Mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce together in a large bowl until well combined.
Form the mixture into four patties.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add burgers and cook until a nice crust forms on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
Remove the hamburger steaks from the skillet and maintain the heat.
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until they are browned and tender.
Stir the flour into the skillet and cook for about 1 minute.
Gradually stir in the beef broth then add the sherry if using.
Return the patties to the skillet and spoon the gravy over the top.
Cover the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes, until the patties are cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt if needed and serve hot.
