Directions
Once the 9-inch cake layers have cooled, place one layer on your cake board or serving plate.
Apply a thin layer of yellow buttercream frosting over the entire layer.
Place the second layer on top and frost it with the same yellow frosting.
Shape reserved cakes into a tail, legs, and head.
Spread the brown frosting on the bottom part of the lion’s body and tail.
Using a piping bag, create orange frosting rosettes all over the lion’s body, excluding the area frosted with brown frosting.
Decorate the upper edge of the cake with additional orange rosettes to create the lion's mane.
Use chocolate frosting to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth on the lion’s face.
Stick the two white chocolate discs for eyes and pink candy for nose.
Use a piece of black liquorice for the mouth and brown candy for the tail.
Place ice cream cones at the appropriate locations for legs and ears, securing them with frosting if necessary.
Let your lion cake chill in the refrigerator for an hour or so before serving.
