Directions

2 min.
1. Step

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.

2. Step

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.

3. Step

In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Add to the dry mixture.

4. Step

Gradually stir in the boiling water, little by little, until the batter becomes smooth. Be careful not to overmix.

5. Step

Divide the batter equally between the two prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.

6. Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Step

Once done, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. Step

While the cakes are cooling, prepare the vanilla buttercream frosting. Once ready, add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until you achieve the desired vibrant green color.

9. Step

Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous of green frosting on top. Carefully place the second cake layer on top of the frosting.

10. Step

Frost the entire cake with the green frosting, making sure to smooth the surface.

11. Step

To mimic a Minecraft block, decorate the sides of the cake with square-shaped cookies or chocolate bars.

12. Step

If desired, scatter some edible sugar grass on the top to represent the grass terrain.

13. Step

Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the frosting to set.

14. Step

Serve and enjoy this delicious Minecraft-themed cake with your fellow gamers!
