How to cook Original Chicken Maryland Bake

Ingredients
For the chicken:
- 4 portions chicken Maryland
- 1 Cup plain flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper
- Oil, for frying
For the cream gravy:
- 1 tbls butter
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 Cup milk
For the side dish:
- mashed potatoes
- Buttered green beans

Directions
Preheat the oven to 170°C.
In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs and set aside.
In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and set aside.
Dip each chicken Maryland portion into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, into the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to make it more crispy.
In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
Fry each chicken portion until golden brown for about 4 minutes each side.
Transfer the chicken pieces to a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
As the chicken bakes, prepare the cream gravy. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. the flour to the pan and whisk until a smooth forms. Gradually add the milk while whisking constantly until the gravy is thick.
To serve, place fried chicken on a plate, top it with the cream gravy, and serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
