How to cook Easy Greek Chicken Souvlaki
Chicken Souvlaki is a popular Greek dish known for its succulent flavors brought about by marinated chicken grilled to perfection. The marinade has subtle hints of garlic, lemon, and herbs that seep into the chunks of chicken, granting them a magnificent taste. These are often enjoyed with some refreshing tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread.
Ingredients
- 500 g Chicken Breast, cut into chunks
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 tbls of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1⁄2 Cup tzatziki sauce

In a bowl, mix garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, and salt and pepper. Add the chicken chunks and stir to make sure all pieces are covered in the marinade.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour for the flavors to fully infuse into the chicken.
After marinating, thread the chicken chunks onto skewers.
Preheat grill over medium heat. Place skewers on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes on each side until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice golden color.
Serve the chicken souvlaki skewers on a warm pita bread with a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce. You can also add slices of tomatoes and cucumber for a refreshing crunch.
