Homemade Baked Leftover Bread Croutons
Crunchy and flavorful, these homemade croutons will take your soups and salads to the next level. They’re easy to make with leftover bread, perfectly seasoned, and better than any store-bought version. Modify them to your liking by adjusting the seasonings and bread type used.
Ingredients
- 6 slices of stale bread
- 3 tbls of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil or oregano
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of black pepper

Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the stale bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, dried basil or oregano, salt and pepper.
Pour the oil mixture over the bread cubes and toss everything together, ensuring all the bread cubes are coated with the mixture.
Spread the seasoned bread cubes evenly on a baking sheet.
Pop them in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, until they are crisp and golden brown.
Carefully remove them from the oven and let them cool before using.
