Easy Authentic Chicken Curry Recipe
This flavorful chicken curry recipe with chicken cooked in a luscious curry sauce dish is perfect to be served at any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 tbls oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 thumb ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tomatoes finely chopped
- 500 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs cut into bite pieces
- Cilantro for garnish

Directions
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or skillet.
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent. Stir in the garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green chili. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Add the ground cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, garam masala, chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the onion mixture with the spices.
Toss in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they start to soften, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the chicken pieces and until they are lightly browned, around 5-7 minutes.
Pour the coconut milk in and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Adjust the seasoning if necessary and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
Serve the chicken curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
