Delicious cookies with chocolate
I have often baked these chocolatey cookies for friends and family, who have always been delighted with their taste and texture. They are crispy and moist at the same time, with plenty of chocolate in them. With this simple recipe, they turned out perfect every time and I'm sure you'll love it too!
Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 1 TL baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 150 g sugar
- 125 g softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1 TL vanilla essence
- 200 g Chocolate pieces or chopped chocolate

Directions
To bake the chocolate cookie recipe, preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper.
First combine the dry ingredients. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt thoroughly in a bowl. This is important to avoid lumps and to obtain uniform cookies.
In another bowl, mix the butter and sugar until creamy. This is a crucial step to get fluffy and light cookies. Mix for about 2-3 minutes or until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and continue stirring until well combined.
Now carefully stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. I recommend doing this in two portions, making sure that everything is well mixed before adding the next portion.
Add the chocolate pieces and stir just until they are evenly distributed in the batter. Do not stir too much!
Using a spoon or scoop, place portions of dough onto the prepared baking tray. Make sure there is enough space between the cookies as they will come apart during baking.
Bake the chocolate cookies for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Tip: The cookies may still appear a little soft in the center, but they will harden as they cool.
