Classic Creamy Tuna Mornay Pasta
Tuna Mornay is a delicious and creamy dish that combines tuna, pasta, and a cheesy white sauce. It's a comforting and filling meal that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Ingredients
- 225 g pasta (such as macaroni or penne)
- 1 can tuna, drained
- 1 Cup frozen peas
- 2 tbls butter
- 2 tbls all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions
Cook the pasta according to package instructions till al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large sauce, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually add in the milk, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Continue stirring.
Add tuna and peas. Cook.
Add the cooked pasta and mix until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes fothe flavors to meld.
Serve the Tuna Mornay hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
