I have made it countless times for family and friends and it has always gone down a treat. The combination of melted chocolate and fresh fruit is simply unbeatable and the preparation is surprisingly easy.

Directions
To make the chocolate fondue, first wash and dry the fruit and cut into bite-sized pieces. There are no limits to your imagination when choosing the fruit. Personally, I find that strawberries and bananas go particularly well with chocolate, but you can of course use anything you like.
Chop the chocolate into smaller pieces. I recommend using dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, as it has a more intense flavor and the fondue is not too sweet.
Heat the cream in a fondue pot, but do not bring to the boil. Then add the chocolate and melt, stirring constantly. Now would be the right time to add the alcohol if you wish. The rum or kirsch complements the chocolate flavor perfectly, but is of course optional.
When the chocolate has completely melted and has a smooth consistency, place the fondue on a teapot. Now everyone can spear their favorite pieces of fruit or cookies onto a fondue fork and dip them into the chocolatey delicacy. Have fun at the party with the chocolate fondue!
