Best Corned Beef Silverside in Slow Cooker
This tender and flavorful meat is perfect for a hearty family meal or a gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 11⁄2 kg corned silverside
- 2 onions, peeled and cut into wedges
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
- 500 g potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon whole mustard seeds
- 2 tbls brown sugar
- 1⁄4 Cup vinegar
- 4 cups water

Directions
Rinse the corned silverside under cold running water.
Place the silverside in the slow cooker. Top it with onions, garlic, carrots, and potatoes.
In a bowl, combine bay leaf, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, brown sugar, vinegar, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Pour the mixture over the ingredients in the slow cooker, until the meat and vegetables are mostly covered.
Cook on low heat for 6 hours or until the meat becomes tender and easily flakes.
Once cooked, carefully remove the silverside from the slow cooker and transfer it to a platter.
Allow the meat to rest for a few minutes before slicing it into slices.
Arrange the sliced corned silverside and vegetables on a serving dish.
