Basic Naked Cake with Berries
With sweet cream and fresh berries, this is a both elegant and delicious naked cake!
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups crystal sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 11⁄2 cups milk
- buttercream frosting
- mixed fruits (blueberries, raspberries)

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 F and flour 3 cake pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and eggs. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Beat until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Leave cakes in the pans on wire racks to cool completely.
Place one cake layer on a plate, and put frosting on top. Spread out, then add another layer and repeat twic. Do not put frosting on the sides of the cake. Decorate with berries on top, and enjoy!
