Directions
1st To bake the simple butter cookies, first mix the butter in a large bowl until fluffy. I personally prefer to use a hand mixer for this, as it achieves the best consistency.
Add the sugar and mix well again until the mixture is homogeneous. This stage is important for flavorful cookies, so I recommend not skipping this step.
Now add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well with the butter and sugar mixture.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt together. This ensures that the salt is evenly distributed throughout the cookies.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Not all at once - this prevents lumps from forming.
Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour. This step is essential to maintain the shape of the cookies during baking.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out with shapes. You can be creative here and use any shape you like.
Place the plain cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for about 12 minutes until lightly browned. Keep an eye on them while they are baking, as baking times can vary depending on the oven.
Leave the butter cookies to cool completely and enjoy!
