Directions
Start by cooking the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package. Remember to add a little salt to the boiling water before you throw in the pasta. It is very important that we do not overcook the spaghetti - they should be al dente!
In the meantime, prepare the tomato sauce. In a large pot, in a small amount of olive oil, fry chopped garlic. Add canned tomatoes and tomato paste. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, basil and oregano. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the sauce is slightly reduced.
After cooking the spaghetti, drain it, but keep a small amount of pasta water. If the tomato sauce is too thick, you can thin it out by adding some water from the pasta.
Finally, combine the cooked spaghetti with the tomato sauce, stirring to combine the ingredients.
Enjoy! Don't forget the final touch - sprinkle the dish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese or chopped basil leaves!
