Ingredients
- 8 thick slices of crusty bread
- 1 Cup of whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1⁄2 Cup of finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of pepper
- 2 tbls of fresh basil, chopped
- 4 tbls of unsalted butter
- Fresh tomatoes and avocados for garnish

In a large dish, whisk together the milk, eggs, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
Add the bread slices to the mixture, soaking each slice thoroughly for about 2 minutes on each side.
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large non-stick pan over medium heat.
Cook the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they have a golden brown color.
Keep adding butter and cooking the remaining slices in the same manner.
