Quick & Easy Delicious Creamed Spinach
Creamed spinach is a classic side dish that is rich, creamy, and wonderfully delicious. It is an excellent way to make leafy greens appetizing to those with a less adventurous palate, and a perfect accompaniment to meat or fish. This easy, yet elegant recipe will help you create a restaurant-quality creamed spinach at home, with just a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of fresh spinach leaves
- 2 tbls of unsalted butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 Cup of heavy cream
- 1⁄2 Cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1⁄2 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg (optional)

Directions
Clean the spinach thoroughly and remove the stems. Pat dry with a kitchen towel.
Melt the butter over medium heat in a large skillet or sauté pan. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant but not browned.
Add the spinach to the pan in batches, stirring until each batch wilts down before adding the next.
Once all the spinach is wilted and cooked, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, allowing it to warm through.
Sprinkle in the parmesan cheese, stirring the mixture until the cheese has melted into the cream and the sauce is thick.
Season with salt, black pepper, and if desired, a little grated nutmeg.
Serve the creamed spinach hot, as a side dish with your preferred main.
