Quick & Easy Cinnamon Scrolls From Scratch
Easy Cinnamon Scrolls are a classic comfort dessert. These scrumptious scrolls are perfect for a cozy breakfast or a sweet treat on a rainy afternoon. They are filled with a rich, sticky cinnamon mixture and topped with a creamy glaze. The scrolls are straightforward to make and fill the house with a deliciously tempting aroma as they bake!
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 1⁄2 Cup milk
- 1⁄4 Cup of butter
- 1⁄4 Cup sugar
- 21⁄4 teaspoons of active dry yeast
- 3 cups flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
For the Filling:
- 1⁄2 Cup of butter, melted
- 1 Cup brown sugar
- 2 tbls cinnamon
For the Glaze:
- 1 Cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tbls milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
Warm the milk in a small pan until it bubbles gently, then remove from heat. Add the butter, sugar and yeast to the milk and let it stand for 5 minutes until the yeast is activated.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour the milk mixture into the flour and egg, knead into a soft dough. Add more flour if necessary.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Set aside in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Spread the melted butter all over, then sprinkle generously with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll the dough tightly from the long side. Cut the roll into 2 inch pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
While the scrolls are baking, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm scrolls before serving.
