Perfect Simple Rich Dark Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄4 Cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 11⁄2 Cup granulated
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- 1 Cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, dark cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Stir in the dark chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing each cookie 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are crispy but the center is still soft.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
