VIDEORECIPE Original Anzac biscuits recipe
These chewy biscuits are originally from Australia and New Zealand. Anzac biscuits are made from flour, oats and coconut as a base and combined with butter and golden syrup. The biscuits are slightly crunchy around the edges but a soft and chewy middle.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup self-rising flour
- 1 Cup Desiccated Coconut
- 1 Cup oat flakes
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Cup brown sugar
- 115 g butter
- 2 tablespoon Golden Syrup
- 2 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions
In a bowl combine the flour and the coconut.
Add the oats
Add the salt.
Set to the side.
In a small saucepan add the butter
Add the golden syrup
Add the water.
Cook over medium heat until the butter melts and the mixture is bubbling.
Remove from the heat and add the baking soda.
Mix with a wooden spoon until bubbling.
Put the mixture into the bowl with the other ingredients.
Add the brown sugar
Stir to fold the biscuit dough together.
Make the dough little balls and put them on the baking sheet.
With the preheat oven to 170°, bake for about 15 minutes. Then, remove from heat, leave the biscuits to cool, and enjoy!
