Lattice apple pie
Sweet and sour lattice apple pie.
Ingredients
For the road:
- 250 g Plain flour
- 100 g sugar
- 1 pcs vanilla sugar
- 150 g butter
- 1 pcs egg
- pinch of salt
For the filling:
- 1 kg apples
- 100 g sugar
- ground cinnamon
- lemon juice

Directions
Mix the flour with the sugar and salt. Then add a knob of butter and an egg and quickly work the mixture into a dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut into thin slices. Mix the apples with the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice.
Place the larger half of the dough into a greased and floured cake tin. Then layer the prepared apple filling on top of the dough.
Roll out the remaining dough into a thin sheet to cover the filling. Cut the pastry sheet into strips and place on top of the filling to form a grid.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes or until golden. Let the cake cool before serving.
