How to make Cheesy Creamy Pasta Bake
Creamy pasta bake is a simple yet satisfying comfort dish that is ideal for family dinners and get-togethers. Ingredients
- 400 g of pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- 2 tbls of olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 400 g of diced tomatoes
- 1⁄2 Cup of cream
- 1 Cup of grated cheddar cheese
- 1 Cup of grated mozzarella cheese
- salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Directions
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C for fan-forced oven).
Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package until al dente, then drain and set aside.
In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until they become soft and golden.
Add the diced tomatoes to the frying pan and stir well. Allow this to simmer for 5-10 minutes until the tomatoes break down.
Add the cream to the tomato mixture, stirring well. Season with salt and pepper.
Mix the cooked pasta into the creamy tomato sauce until all the pasta is well-coated.
Transfer half of the pasta to a large baking dish, then sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat this process with the remaining pasta and cheese to create layers.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
