Homemade Healthy LCM Rice Krispies Bar Treat

A much-loved treat can be made in the comfort of your own home. These homemade LCM bars introduce a new twist on the classic that you grew up loving. These bars are packed full of flavor and crunch, sure to delight both young and adult palates. They can be enjoyed as a quick snack, a special dessert, or even as a witty party treat!

  • 200 gms marshmallows Added to
  • 3 tbls of unsalted butter Added to
  • 4 cups of Rice Krispies (Rice Puffs) Added to
  • 12 Cup of mixed extras (chocolate chips, dried fruit seeds or nuts) Added to

1. Step

Place the marshmallows and butter in a big, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the ingredients for about 1 minute or until the marshmallows begin to expand.

2. Step

Mix until the marshmallows and butter are evenly blended. If the marshmallows haven't fully melted, place them back in the microwave for 30-second blasts until smooth when stirred.

3. Step

Add in your Rice Krispies and optional extras and mix well, ensuring all the Rice Krispies are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.

4. Step

Press the mixture into a lined baking tray (around 20x30cm) and spread it out evenly. You may need to butter your hands or spatula to do this as the mixture can be very sticky.

5. Step

Allow the mixture to cool before cutting it into 15 pieces.

6. Step

Keep the bars in an airtight container for up to a week.
