Grandma's Barley Soup Recipe
A tasty barley soup recipe from grandma, perfect for a weekend lunch.
Ingredients
- 700 g Poultry meat
- 2 pcs carrot
- 1 pcs onion
- 80 g Barley groats
- 4 pcs Potatoes
- 2 pcs Bay leaves
- 5 pcs A grain of pepper
- 2 pcs Seeds of English herb
- Sprig of parsley
- salt
- pepper

Wash the meat. Put it in a pot, pour in 2 liters of water and start boiling.
Remove the sediment, reduce the heat and add allspice, bay leaves, peppercorns and onion.
Cook everything together for 60 minutes.
After this time, add the diced carrot, parsley and potatoes.
Rinse the barley groats several times under cold water.
Remove the meat from the pot and separate it from the bones, add it to the soup.
Add barley groats and cook the soup for 25 minutes. Towards the end, add chopped parsley.
Season the soup with salt and pepper.
