Directions
Start by squeezing out the inside of the garlic cloves. I usually use the blade of a knife to apply a little pressure to the top of the garlic cloves until they crack and the insides can be easily squeezed out. Apply this consistently to all garlic cloves.
Pour the sour cream into a bowl and add the crushed garlic. It can be important to use a good quality sour cream here, as it will make a thousandfold difference to the final result. Mix everything together with a spoon until you get a creamy and smooth consistency.
Then season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste and add a little olive oil. The olive oil complements the garlic flavour very well, but be careful not to add too much, as the oiliness can dominate.
Finally, mix thoroughly again to ensure that all the ingredients are well combined. If you find it too thick, you can add a little water.
That's it, you're ready with our delicious homemade garlic sauce, which goes great with roasted meats or even as an essential accompaniment to barbecues.
