Directions
Start by dissolving the lime jelly crystals in boiling water, as per the directions on the packet. This usually takes a few minutes of stirring. One thing I've learned: be mindful not to overheat the jelly, as it will affect the texture and prevent it from setting properly.
Pour the jelly mixture evenly into the 10 cups or flutes. Fill only half or three-fourths of each container. I recommend using a container with a wider mouth so it's easier to add in the chocolate frogs later.
Allow the jelly to cool before placing it in the refrigerator. You would want to let it set until your jelly is just firm at the surface but not yet completely set. This would usually take around 1-2 hours depending on your fridge settings. Here's a tip: pressing lightly with your finger, if it leaves a small indent without the liquid seeping, it's ready.
Once the jelly has thickened a bit, push a Freddo Frog or similar chocolate frog into each cup or flute. It should sit on the semi-set jelly without sinking all the way to the bottom. This is where the name \Frog in a Pond\ comes from as it seems like the frogs are floating in the ponds.
Return the cups to the refrigerator until the jelly is completely set. This could take another few hours or preferable overnight.
Right before serving, top each 'pond' with a dollop of whipped cream to resemble lily pads. This playful touch will probably get delightful reactions from your young guests.
