- 1⁄2 kg beetroot
- 1⁄2 l Alcohol vinegar
- 200 g sugar
- 3 cloves
- 1 spoon garlic powder
- 1 spoon black peppercorns
- 1 spoon coarse salt

1. Step
Steam the beetroots, skin on, until cooked but still firm.
2. Step
Allow to cool slightly and peel them.
3. Step
Cut into thin slices. Set aside.
4. Step
Place the vinegar, sugar, cloves, salt, garlic and pepper in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
5. Step
Add the beetroot and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Step
Remove the slices from the liquid and arrange them in a jar as tightly as possible, but without breaking them. Cover with the cooking liquid. Close the jar immediately.
