Delicious melted cheese
Queso fundido is one of my favorite recipes to enjoy with friends or family. Its tasty flavor and ease of preparation always make it the perfect choice for those moments of conviviality. Plus, I love the versatility of this dish, as you can add different types of cheeses and flavor it with herbs and spices to your liking.
Ingredients
- 500 grams cheddar cheese
- 200 grams Mozzarella cheese
- 1 Jalapeño bell pepper (if you like it hot)
- 1 cdta garlic powder
- Toasted bread or nachos to accompany

Preheat the oven to 180° C. This step is important because the cheese needs a constant temperature to melt evenly and quickly.
In a heat resistant bowl place a layer of Cheddar cheese, followed by a layer of Mozzarella. Layering will ensure a blend of flavors and textures in each bite. Repeat until all the cheeses are used up.
Add the finely chopped jalapeño bell pepper (for a milder flavor, remove the seeds before chopping) and sprinkle with the garlic powder. The intensity of the garlic and jalapeño are balanced by the creaminess of the cheese making this dish a delight.
Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
Serve immediately with toasted bread or nachos. I recommend serving it warm to enjoy the elastic and creamy texture of the cheese.
