Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high heat is crucial for achieving the lovely crisp texture on the outisde of our potato wedges.
Rinse the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Leaving the skin on adds a wonderful texture plus it's packed with nutrients too.
Cut each potato in half lengthwise, then each half into four wedges. Try to keep them as even as possible for uniform cooking.
Place the potato wedges on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil ensuring each piece is well-coated. This not only prevents them from sticking to the sheet but also helps make the wedges crispy.
Sprinkle the potato wedges with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Toss them around so that they're uniformly seasoned. These flavors offer a delightful kick but feel free to mix and match your favorite spices!
Arrange the potato wedges with the skin side down. This simple trick allows the thicker skin to become extra crispy.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and crisp. Halfway through, take a moment to flip the wedges to ensure even browning.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. This step allows the wedges to firm up a little, enhancing their crispiness.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving, to provide a refreshing foil to the spiciness of the potatoes. Enjoy these crispy baked potato wedges as a satisfying side or a snack!
