Directions

25 min.
1. Step

In a microwave-safe bowl, first combine the semisweet chocolate chips and butter. You need to melt them together carefully. Microwave increments of 30 seconds work best to avoid overheating and easy mixing.

2. Step

Once melted, stir the mixture until it becomes smooth and velvety. This is a crucial step for your spiders to look great and taste even better.

3. Step

Now for the fun part, stir in the chow mein noodles until they are thoroughly coated with the chocolate mixture. My tip here would be to be gentle and not crush the noodles. They are what give your spiders their legs and overall shape.

4. Step

Using a spoon or small ice cream scoop, drop the blend onto a tray lined with wax paper. Mould it into mound-like structures representing little spiders. Remember, they need not be perfect. The unevenness can add a more realistic element to your spiders.

5. Step

Once you have your spider bodies set, place two candy eyes on each. This step should be done before the chocolate hardens fully.

6. Step

Keep the tray in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes until the 'spiders' harden.
