Directions
Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a square baking tin.
Roll out one packet of pastry to fit the baking tin and place it to the bottom. Prick all over with a fork and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden.
While the base is baking, let's make the custard. Mix the milk, sugar, egg yolks, cornflour, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens up.
Once thickened, reduce to low heat and add one block of Caramilk chocolate broken into pieces. Stir until the chocolate has melted and is well combined.
Pour the custard mixture into the baking tin over the baked pastry.
Roll out the second pack of pastry to fit the tin. Place this on top of the custard layer and prick all over with a fork.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Let the custard slice cool completely in the tin.
In a heatproof bowl, melt the second block of Caramilk chocolate in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each until smooth.
Pour this over the cooled slice and place in the fridge for an hour or until set.
Cut into slices and dust with icing sugar just before serving.
