Best Ultimate Simple Fried Egg Sandwich
This recipe for a Fried Egg Sandwich is a simple and versatile dish suitable for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner. These filling sandwiches are packed with protein from eggs and flavor from the choice of condiments.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tbls of butter
- 2 letters lettuce
- 2 slices tomato
- 2 tbls of mayonnaise
- Optional garnish: parsley, ketchup

Start by heating a frying pan over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
Crack the eggs into the pan, careful not to break the yolks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cook the eggs until the whites are fully set but the yolk is still runny, about 3 to 4 minutes.
While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread slices until they are lightly browned.
Spread one side of each toasted bread slice with mayonnaise.
When the eggs are done, use a spatula to lift them from the pan and place each on a slice of bread.
Add a lettuce leaf and slice of tomato on top of each egg. Close each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread.
Cut the sandwiches in half if desired. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley or ketchup if you like.
