Authentic Lamb Korma Curry
A rich and creamy lamb curry cooked with aromatic Indian spices and flavored with yogurt and cream. Perfect for a cozy dinner party with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 11⁄2 Pounds lamb
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 11⁄2 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 Cup plain yogurt
- 1 Cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 4 cardamom pods
- 5 pcs cloves
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- salt to taste
- water as needed
- Chopped cilantro for garnishing

Directions
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
Add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves. Fry until fragrant.
Add sliced onions and fry until soft and translucent.
Add garlic and ginger paste and fry until the raw smell disappears.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Fry for another minute or until the spices are well combined.
Add cubed lamb and fry until the meat is browned on all sides.
Add yogurt and mix well with the lamb. Cook for 5-6 minutes or until the yogurt is well combined and fragrant.
Add water as needed to create a curry consistency. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for another 20-25 minutes or until the lamb is cooked through and tender.
9 Add cream and salt to taste. Mix well and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro.
